Hi! I'm Josh - M0JMO. Thank you for looking me up on the Internet!

I am 35 and I work in IT. I have worked in this sector for around 18 years.

My other hobbies include photography, driving cars for pleasure, listening to music (HiFi and Head-Fi), electronic kit building and general gadgets/consumer electronics!

I was first licensed in 2002 as Foundation-class M3JMO. I progressed to Intermediate 2E0JMO in 2003 and in 2005 I gained the Full (Advanced) UK callsign of M0JMO.

My main mode of transmission is SSB on HF, but I've been known to dabble in PSK and WSPR from time to time. Contests are fine in moderation, but I would much rather have a nice conversation and find out about other cultures or talk about antennas than just give a "5/9 73".

At home I run a Kenwood TS-590S HF/6m radio which I really enjoy using. I use my own design of antenna for 80m, 40m, 20m, 17m and 10m. It is a fan monopole, inverted-L! It is tuned with a Linear Amp UK SPC Super Tuner. I also use a Force-12 Sigma 5 multi-band vertical dipole in the summer, when I am outside enjoying the garden. RF power is supplied by a Linear Amp UK Ranger 811H which ticks along at 400w with no problem.
My microphone is an Audio Technica AT2010 which goes through a Behringer 48v phantom power unit, before going straight into the front of the TS-590S. I use the built-in EQ to get it to sound like me.

I enjoy working Portable and Mobile too, so listen out for me in my car on HF / VHF / UHF. I use my 1998 Audi A4 as a shelter and PSU when portable - It's really comfy and the battery is big HI.
